Tacie in Toronto

Well, I've done my work in Kitchener apparently. I'm really sad to be leaving this amazing area and my new Spanish family I've gotten here. As we were watching conference this week, we watched most of it in English, but when the 2 speakers spoke in Spanish, we ran to where they were watching it in Spanish, and listened to the speakers themselves. (I was amazed that I could understand conference in two different languages!!!!!) But as we sat watching in English, with the English ward, I thought about how many of those people I didn't know, and I felt a bit alone without my family to watch conference with. But the second we stepped into the Spanish room, and I looked at all of those people I loved, I knew I was home. Which was a terribly sad realization because about 5 hours later, we got a call saying,

"Hermana Hoffman, you're being transferred to MISSISSAUGA SPANISH!"

I was shocked! I thought for sure I'd be staying here in Kitchener, especially since we've just gotten things going here again!

On that note, this week has been the most amazing week of my mission!!! General Conference brings blessings!!!! We got a new investigator this week, Patricia. She is amazing, but has next to 0 time. We stopped by her house nearly every week, but she always said, "I can't today, come another day!" She's so nice and loving though, and Saturday night, we decided that that would be our last time to visit her, and that we'd take a break for a while if she didn't let us in. THANK HEAVENS for the cold!!!!! She said, "It's too cold outside, come in!" So in we went, and taught a SUPER quick lesson. We totally used the "we're leaving, can we come back one more time before we go?" card and Got a lesson with her today. We left her with all the information we could, and went back today to spend an hour and a half at her house!!! She is so loving, and her parents joined us for the lesson too! And the amazing part was that: I can make people laugh in Spanish. This amazed me! :) We were laughing and talking and comfortable the whole time, and we felt the spirit so strong!!! This is missionary work! And I love Spanish people, because we taught Patricia only two lessons, but she offered us her house and offered to be a tour guide when we come back to Kitchener! Haha I love it!

We also had a lesson with our eternal investigator, and we basically threw down the law and told her she couldn't just sit on the fence anymore, but she had to choose whether or not she would get baptized. And she said, "Yes, hermanitas. I know I need to choose, so I will pray to God tonight to know what He wants me to do." We're visiting her again tonight, so I pray she received her answer!

This week was purely amazing, and I'm so sad I have to leave Kitchener. I know God calls us where we need to go though, and that he'll always provide a way. I love Kitchener and it'll always be part of my heart!
